1 - INTRODUCTION AND PRINCIPLES OF INTERIOR DESIGN
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. To understand and appreciate the culture and design styles of different era.
2. To understand the use of materials and structural/construction systems explode during that era.
3. To understand factors that influenced the early society and its architecture.
2 - CULTURAL STUDIES
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. Understand and identify the diverse history and geography of several different cultures
2. Recognise the unique differences of artefacts produced in different periods of history by different cultures from Ancient Egypt to the 19th Century
3. Identify and describe features of historical artefacts from within their cultural contexts
4. Undertake theoretical research to analyse a specific period history and its related artefacts
3 - PRODUCT DESIGN
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. To understand the importance of practical knowledge in industry
2. To understand how to implement the theory part in practical side
3. To get the deep knowledge in the subject through workshops
4. How to make a product in effective way.
4 - BUILDING MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. Become aware of the method of construction details
2. Become aware of the existing building materials and components
3. To learn contemporary as well as vernacular and traditional building materials.
4. Develop aesthetic concept of using building materials.
5 - PRACTICAL-I-ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. To provide the knowledge and skills to understand the application of architectural graphics and drafting techniques
2. Train the students to work on drawing methods both in freehand & with instruments.
3. To develop the appropriate manual skills for visualization & technical representation of built forms in different types of drawings.
4. To equip the student in translating graphical idea into technically appropriate drawing & presentations.
6 - PRACTICAL-I- PHOTOSHOP
PHOTOSHOP
1. Photoshop is the most versatile software on the market for creating and presenting designs, which is why 99 percent of professional design companies use it daily. It has both 2d and 3d abilities and even if your design happens to be created with a complex 3d software like Sketch-up, 9 times out of 10, you will need Photoshop to finalize the Sketch-up render.
7 - PRACTICAL-II- AUTOCAD
AUTOCAD
1. AutoCAD is one of the most popular software applications used by interior designers, architects, engineers, construction professionals, and more. This reliable software allows professionals to design, draft, and document precise drawings with 2D geometry.
8 - PRACTICAL-III -3D VISUALIZATION-3DS MAX, REVIT ARCHITECTURE, GOOGLE SKETCH-UP
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. 3DS MAX- Build compelling Architectural experiences with 3DS Max.Autodesk 3ds Max provides professional interior designers and design studios industry leading 3D interior rendering tools that give them the power to bring their concepts to life.
2. Google Sketch-up – Sketch-Up is a widely used piece of software in the interior design and architecture community and is great for bringing architectural or design plans to life. But Sketch-Up is also great because you can draw your own fully customisation designs as well – including joinery or custom furniture pieces.
3. Revit Architecture is BIM software widely used by architects, engineers, and contractors to create a unified model that all disciplines and trades can use to complete their work.
9 - PRACTICAL-VIII - PRESENTATION STUDIO-01
Interior Design Process – 5 PHASES
1. Strategic Planning Phase
2. Conceptual Development Phase
3. Design Development Phase
4. Construction Documentation Phase
5. Construction Maintenance & Administration Phase
6. This includes the final projects for the course completion and certification. Which includes presentations and projects on Elevations,Floor plans, Colour Theory, 3D images/ Render outputs. This is a very crucial step and you will be completing a project based on all the learning you got throughout the year.
